Original Pick |
1 |
 |
Carolina |
Cam Newton |
QB |
Auburn |
1st Rd: 1st overall |
No need to say much. He's been one of the most productive offensive rookies in history and will be sure to break a few more rookie records before the season is over. |
Cam Newton |
2 |
 |
Denver |
Von Miller |
DE |
Texas A&M |
1st Rd: 2nd overall |
He's been consistently from the start and might be just as big of a reason for Denver's turn-around this season as Tebow. He's been dominant at points and Denver wouldn't even take a second to make this pick again. |
Von Miller |
3 |
 |
Buffalo |
Marcell Dareus |
DT |
Oklahoma |
1st Rd: 3rd overall |
They still had one of the worst run defenses in the league last year and Dareus has helped to elevate them to a better status. He has held his ground on the line, especially when Kyle Williams went out with an injury. |
Marcell Dareus |
4 |
 |
Cincinnati |
A.J. Green |
WR |
Georgia |
1st Rd: 4th overall |
This would be a tough decision. Would they go with Dalton knowing how good he's been and how hard it is to find a strong quarterback, or would they go with Green again who's been as big of a reason for Dalton and Cincinnati's success this year. We're sticking with Green since he was still arguably the best prospect in this draft and he'd be tough to pass on again. |
A.J. Green |
5 |
 |
Arizona |
Patrick Peterson |
CB |
LSU |
1st Rd: 5th overall |
As a cornerback he could be better, but he's far exceeded Arizona's expectation as a return man for them, and has singlehandedly helped Arizona hold on to a few games. |
Patrick Peterson |
6 |
 |
Atlanta |
Tyron Smith |
OT |
USC |
1st Rd: 9th overall |
His development throughout this season has more than justified his scrutinized top-10 pick, and would catupult him towards the top of the draft. Atlanta would love to him at left tackle and move Sam Baker to his more natural position at right tackle. |
Julio Jones |
7 |
 |
San Francisco |
Aldon Smith |
DE |
Missouri |
1st Rd: 7th overall |
Aldon Smith has been well worth the 7th pick and is a big reason for San Francisco's success this season. He's been the perfect player at outside linebacker for them, and assuming his college injury doesn't come back, he'll continue to give them a pass rushing presense for quite some time. |
Aldon Smith |
8 |
 |
Tennessee |
Andy Dalton |
QB |
TCU |
2nd Rd: 35th overall |
One might think picking Dalton over Locker would be a no-brainer, but Locker hasn't been given the same opportunity as Dalton, and when he has, he has shown glipses of being an exceptional player. Yet with so much uncertainty in the NFL, they'd have to go with the sure thing in Dalton, they'd be beyond thrilled with the results. |
Jake Locker |
9 |
 |
Dallas |
DeMarco Murray |
RB |
Oklahoma |
3rd Rd: 71st overall |
Knowing what they have in DeMarco Murray, there's no way they'd let him fall to the 3rd round this time. He's been excellent for them this year, and combined with Felix Jones, he gives them a dynamic duo going into the future. |
Tyron Smith |
10 |
 |
Jacksonville |
Ryan Kerrigan |
DE |
Purdue |
1st Rd: 16th overall |
Considering Jacksonville hasn't been winning with Gabbert and their pass rush has been relatively non-existant, they might try a different approach and go with a sure-thing pass rusher and wait until 2012 for a QB. |
Blaine Gabbert |
11 |
 |
Houston |
J.J. Watt |
DE |
Wisconsin |
1st Rd: 11th overall |
Houston needed stalwarts on their defensive line for Wade Phillip's defense to work effectively, and since they already felt comfortable with their pass rush of Mario Williams and Conner Barwin, they'd likely go with Watt again, even over later round pick Brooks Reed. |
J.J. Watt |
12 |
 |
Minnesota |
Julio Jones |
WR |
Alabama |
1st Rd: 6th overall |
He's shown glimpses in his first year of why Atlanta traded up for him, and if he can become more consistent and stay healthy, he'd give Minnesota a great long-term replacement for Sidney Rice. |
Christian Ponder |
13 |
 |
Detroit |
Jurell Casey |
DT |
USC |
3rd Rd: 77th overall |
It's hard to judge Nick Fairley since he's been injured, but it's been easy to judge Jurell Casey who's been a force on Tennessee's starting defensive line. He might actually be an even better fit at defensive tackle, since it would allow Suh to rush the passer more while he would help to stop the run and tangle with blockers. |
Nick Fairley |
14 |
 |
St. Louis |
Robert Quinn |
DE |
UNC |
1st Rd: 14th overall |
He's definitely come on as of late, and is starting to show why he was once valued as a top 10 player. |
Robert Quinn |
15 |
|
Miami |
Jake Locker |
QB |
Washington |
1st Rd: 8th overall |
This is where it gets interesting. Miami would probably pick a quarterback knowing they'd have to start either Henne or Matt Moore. Given that, they'd have their choice of Locker, Ponder, and Gabbert. Ponder and Gabbert have done somewhat ok in their first year considering they are rookie, but since they didn't show anything to bank a franchise on yet, they'd probably pick the QB with the most potential, and Locker still has the most of the 3. Given his strong, albeit brief, outing, he'd have Miami believing. |
Mike Pouncey |
16 |
 |
Washington |
Phil Taylor |
DT |
Baylor |
1st Rd: 21st overall |
Washington would have been the perfect spot for Taylor, since they would have immediately used him where his strength lies, at nose tackle. |
Ryan Kerrigan |
17 |
 |
New England |
Nate Solder |
OT |
Colorado |
1st Rd: 17th overall |
He's moved into the starting lineup for New England and has performed well. While they might need the most help at secondary this year, he was a great tackle prospect and they would likely want him again protecting Brady into the future. |
Nate Solder |
18 |
 |
San Diego |
Brooks Reed |
DE |
Arizona |
2nd Rd: 42nd overall |
Since moving into the starting lineup for Houston, Reed has been great racking up a lot of sacks. This is nothing against their original pick Corey Liuget, who's been solid for them, but San Diego ranks amongst the worst in pass rush this year and Reed would immediately help solve that problem. |
Corey Liuget |
19 |
 |
NY Giants |
Stefan Wisniewski |
OG |
Penn State |
2nd Rd: 48th overall |
Wisniewski has been an incredible player for Oakland this year, with his ability to play both guard and center on their offensive line. He would have been great for the Giants, allowing them to have him play center, or by keep him at guard and allowing Diehl to stay at left tackle. With the injuries the Giants have piled up this year, Wisniewski would have been refreshing for them to have. |
Prince Amukamara |
20 |
 |
Tampa Bay |
Adrian Clayborn |
DE |
Iowa |
1st Rd: 20th overall |
While he hasn't been amazing. he's been good enough for the Bucs to pick him again. |
Adrian Clayborn |
21 |
 |
Cleveland |
Nick Fairley |
DT |
Auburn |
1st Rd: 13th overall |
Considering the type of defense they run, Fairley might have been a better fit for Cleveland after all, allowing him to rush the passer at will. Unfortunately, he still would have been injured for half the season, but getting him at 21 they wouldn't be able to pass him up. |
Nick Fairley |
22 |
 |
Indianapolis |
Anthony Costanzo |
OT |
Boston College |
1st Rd: 22nd overall |
Indianapolis literally needs help all over, but if they didn't pick Costanzo they'd still need another Left Tackle to protect Manning/Luck next year. One of the quarterbacks might be an option here too, but so far they've each only had a few more wins than Indy this year (0) and it might be worth waiting until 2012's strong class. |
Anthony Costanzo |
23 |
 |
Philadelphia |
Colin McCarthy |
ILB |
Miami |
4th Rd: 109th overall |
Philly's been looking for some linebackers of the future, and McCarthy has proven this year with Tennessee that he might be one of those, or at least better than they ones Philly's used this year. |
Danny Watkins |
24 |
 |
New Orleans |
Jabaal Sheard |
DE |
Pittsburgh |
2nd Rd: 37th overall |
Sheard would give New Orleans more pressure off the edge than Cam Jordan has been giving them and would be a great compliment to Will Smith. |
Cam Jordan |
25 |
 |
Seattle |
Blaine Gabbert |
QB |
Missouri |
1st Rd: 12th overall |
Clearly Seattle didn't think Whitehurst would pick up their new offense in time, but T-Jax isn't the answer either. Ponder or Gabbert would be the question, and they've both been equally as good and bad. Gabbert has more win than Ponder now, so he's the choice. Yet with a new offense it seems that they wouldn't have started a rookie QB anyways, so having Gabbert would give them great security when they finish middle of the pack this season and potentially miss out on the top 2012 QBs. |
James Carpenter |
26 |
 |
Kansas City |
Torrey Smith |
WR |
Maryland |
2nd Rd: 58th overall |
Kansas City reached on potential, but just may have picked the wrong guy. With Smith they get a more mature and explosive player. |
Jonathan Baldwin |
27 |
 |
Baltimore |
Pernell McPhee |
DE |
Mississippi State |
5th Rd: 165th overall |
Knowing what they have in him, they might not want to risk waiting for him in the later rounds, and might be more willing to wait on Jimmy Smith since he's been out pretty much his entire time with the team. |
Jimmy Smith |
28 |
 |
New Orleans |
Corey Liuget |
DT |
Illinois |
1st Rd: 18th overall |
While New Orleans knew what they were getting when they picked Ingram, a big, bruising back who is likely to get hurt, seeing it come true might have disuaded them from doing it again. Liuget's been one of the few bright spots this year for San Diego, successfully moving his way in to the starting lineup, and he would be a perfect compliment next to Sedrick Ellis for the foreseeable future. |
Mark Ingram |
29 |
 |
Chicago |
Denarius Moore |
WR |
Tennessee |
5th Rd: 148th overall |
He'd give them the receiving threat that they are in desperate need of, one that Johnny Knox and Earl Bennett could only show glimpses of. Chris Conte is another rookie who's played well for them that they might decide to jump up and get here too. |
Gabe Carimi |
30 |
 |
NY Jets |
Muhammed Wilkerson |
DT |
Temple |
1st Rd: 30th overall |
They needed interior defensive linemen badly and he's been working out well for the Jets. He might not be as snazzy of a name as some of the others still available, but he'd still be filling a big need for them. |
Muhammed Wilkerson |
31 |
 |
Pittsburgh |
Cameron Heyward |
DE |
Ohio State |
1st Rd: 31st overall |
Cameron Heyward hasn't gotten a lot of burn for Pittsburgh this year, but they were hoping they wouldn't have to use him that much anyways since that would mean Brett Keisel stayed healthy. In the playing time that he has gotten, he has shown that he will be a very valuable piece of their defensive line into the future, and Pittsburgh would be happy to pick him again. |
Cameron Heyward |
32 |
 |
Green Bay |
Randall Cobb |
WR |
Kentucky |
2nd Rd: 64th overall |
They say special teams wins you games, and Randall Cobb has been one of the better special teams additions this year. Considering they are undefeated so far, he's not a bad pick again, this time one round earlier. |
Derek Sherrod |
ROUND 2 |
33 |
 |
New England |
Karl Klug |
DE |
Iowa |
5th Rd: 142nd overall |
Every time Klug is given an opportunity, he's able to make things happen. With 6 sacks already on the year, he's another reason Tennessee has been able to win games this year. |
Ras-I Dowling |
34 |
 |
Buffalo |
Rahim Moore |
S |
UCLA |
2nd Rd: 45th overall |
Rahim Moore has been a great compliment to Brian Dawkins this year, and has shown the potential to be a mainstay at safety. |
Aaron Williams |
35 |
 |
Cincinnati |
Christian Ponder |
QB |
Florida State |
1st Rd: 12th overall |
Ponder was supposed to be the underrated quarterback of the draft. However, that was when he was expected to be drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round. When he went in the first, all that 'sleeper' talk went out the window and he was expected to perform like a franchise quarterback. While he's performed well for a rookie this year, and might easily be the leader of a playoff team some day, the uncertainty drops him down into the 2nd round. |
Andy Dalton |
36 |
 |
San Francisco |
Richard Sherman |
CB |
Stanford |
5th Rd: 154th overall |
Sherman was an afterthought in the draft last year, but with his outstanding play at corner for Seattle this year, he probably wouldn't be forgotten. |
Colin Kaepernick |
37 |
 |
Cleveland |
Greg Little |
WR |
UNC |
2nd Rd: 59th overall |
Greg Little has enjoyed some success this year with Cleveland and if he could hold on to the ball a little more he'll be a potent weapon. |
Jabaal Sheard |
38 |
 |
Arizona |
Roy Helu |
RB |
Nebraska |
4th Rd: 105th overall |
Helu has looked nice this year when running the ball, and he'd definitely be an early pick in this redraft. |
Ryan Williams |
39 |
 |
Tennessee |
Akeem Ayers |
OLB |
UCLA |
2nd Rd: 39th overall |
Ayers has made just as much of an impact on Tennessee's defense this year as McCarthy, and would likely fall to around the same spot. |
Akeem Ayers |
40 |
 |
Dallas |
Jimmy Smith |
CB |
Colorado |
1st Rd: 27th overall |
Another injured player who might fall out of the 1st round this time around. With his character concerns going into the draft, an injury wouldn't help his cause. |
Bruce Carter |
41 |
 |
Washington |
T.J. Yates |
QB |
UNC |
5th Rd: 152nd overall |
Yates has performed exceptionally well on short notice in Houston, and with Washington's quarterback woes this year, they'd be happy to give him a shot. |
Jarvis Jenkins |
42 |
 |
Houston |
Justin Houston |
OLB |
Georgia |
3rd Rd: 70th overall |
Houston is starting to come on as a pass rusher, and since Reed isn't available he'd be a nice consolation prize. |
Brooks Reed |
43 |
 |
Minnesota |
Doug Baldwin |
WR |
Stanford |
Undrafted |
Baldwin continues to surpass expectations this year as an undrafted rookie and is establishing himself as a mainstay in Seattle. |
Kyle Rudolph |
44 |
 |
Detroit |
Titus Young |
WR |
Boise State |
2nd Rd: 44th overall |
Titus Young has been able to capitalize on limited opportunities, and will continue to be a great compliment to Calvin Johnson. |
Titus Young |
45 |
 |
Denver |
Mark Ingram |
RB |
Alabama |
1st Rd: 28th overall |
There's a reason guys who have injury concerns drop every year in the draft. It's no fun to have them keep getting injured for your team. Ingram's injuries were a concern going into the draft, and it's been relatively validated this year. Unfortunately it will likely continue into the future, causing him to fall out of the first round. |
Rahim Moore |
46 |
 |
Denver |
Orlando Franklin |
OT |
Miami |
2nd Rd: 46th overall |
Orlando Franklin has worked out well at tackle this year and is part of a very successful offensive line this year. |
Orlando Franklin |
47 |
 |
St. Louis |
Prince Amukamara |
CB |
Nebraska |
1st Rd: 19th overall |
While Prince has been injured most of the year, he's shown how much of an impact he can make when in the game. |
Lance Kendricks |
48 |
 |
Oakland |
Mike Pouncey |
OG |
Florida |
1st Rd: 15th overall |
He has shown marked improvement as the season's gone on, but would likely fall to a more justified draft position in this draft. |
Stefen Wisniewski |
49 |
 |
Indianapolis |
Derek Sherrod |
OT |
Mississippi State |
1st Rd: 32nd overall |
Sherrod would be higher if he played more this year. As a prospect he still might be better than the guys above him, but they'd have more tap on the other guys. |
Benjamin Ijalana |
50 |
 |
San Diego |
Stephen Paea |
DT |
Oregon State |
2nd Rd: 53rd overall |
Paea has stepped up largely for Chicago and without the Liuget pick in the first round, he'd provide a valuable piece on San Diego's defensive line. |
Marcus Gilchrist |
51 |
 |
Tampa Bay |
Da'Quan Bowers |
DE |
Clemson |
2nd Rd: 51st overall |
He fell because there were injury concerns about him. While he hasn't wowed people like he did in college, he hasn't gotten seriously hurt yet, meaning Tampa Bay would pick him again. |
Da'Quan Bowers |
52 |
 |
NY Giants |
Mason Foster |
OLB |
Washington |
3rd Rd: 84th overall |
Mason Foster has played well for Tampa Bay and with all of the injuries at linebacker for the Giants, Foster might be the best option. |
Marvin Austin |
53 |
 |
Chicago |
Chris Conte |
S |
Cal |
3rd Rd: 93rd overall |
Conte has been a pleasant surprise at safety for the Bears this year, and he would easily be right there in that second round. |
Stephen Paea |
54 |
 |
Philadelphia |
Jason Kelce |
OC |
Cincinnati |
6th Rd: 191st overall |
It took some time for Kelce to get going, but once he did he's played great for Philadelphia. |
Jaiquawn Jarrett |
55 |
 |
Kansas City |
Daniel Thomas |
RB |
Kansas State |
1st Rd: 62nd overall |
When Daniel Thomas has been on the field, he's shown great potential. With Ryan Williams getting hurt for the year right from the start, Thomas would be a better option this time. |
Rodney Hudson |
56 |
 |
New England |
Jonathan Baldwin |
WR |
Pittsburgh |
1st Rd: 26th overall |
Baldwin has shown glimpses of the ability that everyone knew he had, but he also hasn't allayed the other concerns. He'd still be a great pick at this point. |
Shane Vereen |
57 |
 |
Detroit |
Marcus Gilbert |
OT |
Florida |
2nd Rd: 63rd overall |
Gilbert was shoved into the starting lineup and performed admirably for Pittsburgh. He would offer the same sound play for Detroit. |
Mikel Leshoure |
58 |
 |
Baltimore |
Demarcus Van Dyke |
CB |
Miami |
3rd Rd: 81st overall |
DVD has played decent enough for Oakland once he was thrust into the starting lineup to warrant a pick in the 2nd round for the redraft. |
Torrey Smith |
59 |
 |
Cleveland |
Sam Acho |
DE |
Texas |
4th Rd: 103rd overall |
Sam Acho has shown in small doses that he could rush the passer and after missing out on Sheard this time around, Acho would be a nice alternative. |
Greg Little |
60 |
 |
Houston |
Ryan Mallett |
QB |
Arkansas |
3rd Rd: 74th overall |
While Mallett hasn't played this year, he showed enough in preseason to warrant a 2nd round pick this time around. With Houston's quarterback injuries, and Yates going early, he would be a nice player to have. |
Brandon Harris |
61 |
 |
San Diego |
Rodney Hudson |
OG |
Florida State |
2nd Rd: 55th overall |
With all of San Diego's injuries on the offensive line, Hudson would give them great versatility at guard and center. |
Jonas Mouton |
62 |
|
Miami |
Danny Watkins |
OG |
Baylor |
1st Rd: 23rd overall |
Watkins is another Philadelphia offensive lineman who took some time to work out the kinks, but now that he has, he's been playing much more sound for them. With Miami going for Locker in this redraft, he'd need some extra protection. |
Daniel Thomas |
63 |
 |
Pittsburgh |
Jason Pinkston |
OT |
Pittsburgh |
5th Rd: 150th overall |
Pinkston has transitioned well over to guard for Cleveland, and Pittsburgh needs some help at offensive line. |
Marcus Gilbert |
| 64 |
 |
Green Bay |
Lee Ziemba |
OT |
Auburn |
7th Rd: 244th overall |
Ziemba has jumped in at left tackle for Carolina and kept Cam Newton relatively upright. While his comfort with Cam after playing with him at Auburn, might have led to some of this success, Ziemba's ability to play both guard and tackle would give Green Bay the type of player they currently have with Derek Sherrod. |
Randall Cobb |
